Note to future self

thoughts
I like it when the only thought roaming my head before I fall asleep is whether I should wear white or blue trousers tomorrow.
It’s quite strange how some changes are hard to adjust to, while others are so easy to accept. Over time, the changes that seemed easy become the harder ones, and the changes you thought were hard turn out to be the better changes.
Today, I put on a new pair of socks. It felt heavenly, that feeling of soft fabric against my toes! I hope I remember to enjoy these little moments in the future. One day, I might not get so excited anymore. (And that thought makes me quite sad.)

art
I think you all are familiar with this blue little fella. You might recognise him from other places around here, too.

If I ever get around to animate this buddy, I’m thinking he has to have a friend to play with. Maybe even a girlfriend? Or an ancient relative (who is still alive)?
But one thing at a time. I’ll throw out some more portraits and bigger illustrations (with backgrounds!) before my mind goes missing again.
High standards

Thought of the week:
I am of the kind who always analyse and judge things (you might want to add an ‘over’ in front of those two words). Whenever I see a piece of art someone else has made, I always spot the negative parts first, eg. Pikachu isn’t so thin, those hands are too small compared to the head or that can in no way be called “manga”-style.
This leads to me seldom being happy with what I do, everything from the way I pronounce my ‘S’-es to the way I fold my clothes. However, I think having high standards might be useful in the future. A person can pressure oneself to be better than one already is by always wanting to improve.
So, my evolution of thought on this subject is that I have indeed high standards, both to myself and others (but that doesn’t mean one has to be cocky when something isn’t good enough). If you can’t get it right the first time, do it over again until you’re satisfied. Imagine it being someone else’s, because it’s always easier to judge other people’s creations rahter than your own.
